a critique of the left/anti fascism counter protests...particularly this one time where it kinda ended up being this group of mostly white antifa types roaming the streets of the cbd, masked up, shouting who's streets our streets and always was always will be slogans..it was pretty weird if we think about this stuff in the context of so-called australia being stolen land..who's streets are they really? and when we "welcome" refugees, does that imply that we have a sense of ownership of this country? and while we should absolutely oppose facsism and the far right, what are we doing to oppose government and government policies that ride the same agenda..what do we do to oppose state fascism in the form of police, who stand between left and right side? and when we call everyone nazis, are we over simplifying a very complex reality? are we creating an over simplified dichotomy of good and bad?
lyrics
pick yr side on the streets of this persistent colony
take yr hate into the streets
are they the only enemy?
pick yr side on the street of this shit colony
take yr rage into who's streets?
not yours, not mine, not ours to own or claim
so problematic with this speech
of good/bad(nazi)
problematic with "welcoming"
sounds like government policies
left/right/guilty
we're all guilty
"always was n will be"...shouting without thinking?
coz what is welcome in the context of indigenous sovereignty?
these rigid dichotomies..
good/bad(nazi)/left/right/guilty
we're all guilty
such rigid dichotomies simplify the complexities
and we're all guilty
